downeast destination management launches new website

When a company is considered a leader in its field, it’s only appropriate to have a website to match it!

We’ve been working hard over the past couple of months – collaborating with designers and programmers to take our vision and turn it into an incredibly beautiful, easy to navigate website for our clients.

The Atlantic Beer Institute – Beer 101!

The Alexander Keith’s Brewery has created a package for the true beer loving crowd. It is Atlantic Beer Institute a 2-hour in-depth look at the brewing process and the beer industry from the ancient Egyptians to modern day. Begin your day with a modified tour of the Keith’s Brewery. Actors in period costume will take you through the history of Alexander Keith and his India Pale Ale and provide you with a hands-on look at the brewing process in the oldest working brewery in North America. Next, you will make a brief stop at the Stag’s Head Inn for a sample of Mr. Keith’s finest ale and hospitality before continuing on to the Atlantic Beer Institute. At the Beer Institute, you will take a deeper look at the history of beer and brewing, Beers of the World (including Canada), and proper pouring and handling techniques. Your visit would not be complete without taking time to learn how to properly taste your favorite beers – after all of that hard work, we think you’ve earned the chance to savor the beer you have so intently studied.

Length of Tour: 2 hours
Participants: A minimum of 20 people is required. Maximum capacity is 40.

The Marriott Courtyard Halifax Inn – Headed up by GM Frank LaLeune

Designed to capture the beauty of our historic city, the Courtyard offers many ways for you to do the same. The 125 room hotel is situated in the centre of the downtown business core and only a stone’s throw from the historic Halifax Waterfront. Frank LaLeune will head up the hotel as it’s GM and brings years of hotel managerial expertise. Frank opened and managed the Halifax Marriott Residence Inn in 2004 winning awards placing it at the top of it’s brand in North America and Canada for overall customer satisfaction, cleanliness and maintenance and upkeep.

Nicole Langille is the new General Manager for downeast destination management

Nicole, a native of Nova Scotia, has a background based in the hospitality industry, and more than ten years’ experience in management and event planning. She has worked with a variety of hotels, resorts, and restaurants in Canada, the US, and the Far East. Nicole has a degree in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Mount St. Vincent University in Halifax, and has been the Marketing Manager for the Fraser & Hoyt Group for the past nine years.

downeast joins Destination Halifax in promoting Halifax in Toronto.

Nicole Langille, General Manager for downeast destination management, recently travelled to Toronto with representatives from Destination Halifax in an effort to market Halifax as a destination of choice. Three great events were hosted by Destination Halifax and downeast to showcase Halifax to companies, event and meeting planners, and incentive companies and entice them to plan trips to and events in Halifax.
