Our first experience working with downeast destination management was nothing short of excellent.

“Our first experience working with downeast destination management was nothing short of excellent.  Finding new ideas for office events can become a challenge, however from the first contact with downeast their staff, especially Jenny Hasselman, was next to none.  We truly had very little to do but show up and enjoy.  The staff at downeast just needed to know the number of guests and from that point on handled every last detail.  Staff were professional and courteous and we look forward to future events with downeast.  Many thanks to Jenny and her team.”

Filed under: downeast news — Nicole Langille @ 5:54 pm

“Meeting professionals can’t afford to leave anything out of the imagination. We hope these jobs intrigue and incite you to think more about your industry and how it’s growing. The only people who stay in the same place forever are dead. And this industry is anything but dead.”

I just read this article in Meeting Professionals International. Do you agree with the possibilities? Let me know.

their support of our on-site events makes everything look flawless

Over the past 5 years I have had the pleasure to work with downeast destination management with great success.  Our Alexander Keith’s birthday event in Halifax has become an annual favourite of Keith’s fans from all over the country.  The team at ddm is always enthusiastic to work with us and their operations team ensures we have smooth transfers, and their support of our on-site events makes everything look flawless. From web registration, travel bookings, on-site check-in, decor support, budget management transportation operations and on-site event staff, they have become a wonderful partner for us in our Alexander Keith’s celebrations! Slainte!

Nova Centre

Filed under: downeast news — Nicole Langille @ 1:30 pm

As someone who works for a company that depends on the development of our city I see Halifax compete for association and corporate conference business very regularly against other destinations around the world. We are continually coming up against some of the most cultural and urbane cities. Moving forward on the Nova Centre development will enable us to achieve better positioning. There are many local industries and companies who are built on Halifax succeeding as a destination of choice, I encourage them to speak up and help push this project forward. A well thought out, new development such as the Nova Centre will certainly put Halifax at the top of the global convention map.

Halifax hosts Canspep- ddm sponsors dine-around

Filed under: downeast news — Nicole Langille @ 1:48 pm

This years’ Canadian Society of Special Event Planners Conference is in Halifax. What a terrific opportunity for us to showcase our fabulous, friendly city. Last night Claudia and I played host to all Event Planners at a Dine Around in some of Halifax’s most notable restaurants. Participants were treated to a very creative presentation of invitation and downeast style restaurant trivia. The winning team received bottles of Nova Scotian wine compliments of ddm.

“skip the bothersome RFP process and simply hire downeast”

Filed under: Testimonials — Nicole Langille @ 2:48 pm

“Working with downeast was not only a pleasure, but I could not have produced such a flawless national conference and trade show without their incredible guidance, support and expertise. Their staff are super stars and I tell all my colleagues to skip the bothersome RFP process and simply hire downeast for transportation, companion program, entertainment, décor, transfers etc. Jenny Hasselman was incredible and became a part of my team and went above and beyond to help wherever needed. I highly recommend downeast destination management.”

Halifax as Host

Filed under: downeast news — Nicole Langille @ 4:55 pm

I’ve spent the last 2 days pitching downeast destination management’s conference services to a number of associations and organizations who have recently chosen Halifax to host their conferences.  In all of these particular instances local individuals pushed to bring the conferences to Halifax. It is incredible when people really get behind their city and make something great happen- like a conference for 800 people. We have some fantastic advocates bringing business  to our city. If you know someone who has done an extrodinary job consider nominating them for the Destination Halifax Ambassador Club .
